The series consists of records of the Atlanta Urban League Employment Department from 1941-1945. The files include administrative files (1941-1985), containing correspondence, reports, rosters, and printed material relating to the work of Department leaders Robert A. Thompson (1941-1960), Harold Arnold (1961-1965), Richard Lyle (1965-1966), and Mortimer Cox (1964-1977); and departmental records (1981-1985). The files also include program files (1961-1984), including records of the Data Processing and Clerical Training Center (1974-1984); the Labor Education Advancement Program (1972-1978); the Manpower Analysis and Training Program (1974-1976); the On-the-Job Training Program (1967-1983); the Military and Veterans Affairs Program (1968-1974); the Preparation for Employment Program (1974-1984); and the Summer Youth Employment Program (1968). The series also contains employment orders (1961-1979).
